The waste management sector in Ivory Coast still needs a lot of help to improve its current poor practices and ineffectiveness.
Recyplast is a private pre-collection company specialized in the recycling of plastic waste, from the collection to the production of secondary raw materials. Its mission is to preserve the environment and create jobs for people in the community.
The project has a mobile application called Plastock, that facilitates the recycling of all plastic waste generated by households. It informs users of the closest collection points where they can take their plastic waste. Plastock wants to encourage each citizen to practice the selective sorting of waste. Each kilogram of plastic gives users a point that will be converted into communication credits, data, or mobile money. By doing this, the program allows informal collectors to become Recyplast franchise collectors.
